About Post 83

A Rich History:

Constructed in 1983, the Post 83 building initially served as affordable housing for Veterans before extending its welcome to the broader public.

Ownership and Management:

The Post 83 Co-op land and buildings are owned by the City of Burnaby, which leases them to the Community Land Trust (CLT). The CLT sets the rental rates and many of the conditions of tenancy to the Post 83 Board, which manages the day-to-day operations of the Co-op. The Post 83 Board has contracted COHO Management to serve the detailed daily administration, general maintenance, and emergency callouts for the building. The rest is managed by the Board and Board Committees. 

Abundant Living Spaces:

With 181 suites, our co-op provides ample accommodation for residents. Additionally, members have access to a communal laundry facility for convenience.

Situated directly across from Central Park, our co-op offers unparalleled access to many outdoor amenities, including a pool, walking trails, pitch and putt, and public tennis courts. Nestled in Burnaby, BC, Post 83 Co-op Housing boasts proximity to Metrotown, the Burnaby Public Library, bus services, as well as Patterson and Metrotown Skytrain stations.

​The building occupies expansive grounds adorned with meticulously maintained garden areas, tended to entirely by our members.

  • Storage locker room (if available and member is an active volunteer)

  • Secure underground parking stalls (available at $20.00/month per vehicle)
