A housing co-op is a business and a community jointly owned by the people who live here and as owners participation is required.
In addition to basic information, Post 83 Co-op Housing requires your financial information.
Submit your most recent Notice of Assessment from Revenue Canada, ensuring your Social Insurance Number is deleted. If you cannot provide this, alternative verifiable proof of income such as employment letters, pay stubs, and bank statements will be considered. Applications without financial information will not be processed.
For a one bedroom suite you must earn an annual combined household income of $70,600.
For a two bedroom suite you must earn an annual combined household income of $83,460.

Housing charges vary. Our one-bedroom units are $1,765 - $1,916. Our two-bedroom start at $2,091 - $2,242. The housing charge is based on the floor location of the suite. Rates may change in the future.
A share purchase is a share you buy to become a member of a co-op. Each share gives a member a vote at general meetings. Our share purchase is $2,000 for a one-bedroom and $2,500 for a two-bedroom.
Currently, there is no subsidy available.
Post 83 Co-op Housing has 4 wheelchair accessible suites on the first floor. There are two (2) one bedroom suites and two (2) two bedroom suites on the first floor.
Yes, there is a waitlist. To stay on the list, email office@post83housing.ca before your 6-month period ends, stating that you wish to remain on the list and that your originally submitted information is correct. If there have been changes to your contact information, family situation, or income, please re-submit a new application.
No. Pets are not allowed in the building, even as visitors.
Post 83 is moving towards being a non-smoking building. Smoking, including vaping, is not permitted inside of Post 83 in the suites or in any of the common areas, including the underground parkade.
In some suites, however, past members were grandfathered in and smoke in their suites. However, no new members or their guests are permitted to smoke inside of the suites. Members and their guests are able to smoke outside on their balconies on all floors EXCEPT the designated non-smoking floors (inside & outside) which are the 4th, 7th, 14th and 22nd floors. No ashes, cigarette butts or related materials may be thrown off balconies.

No. Dishwashers, garburators, or washing machines of any kind are not permitted to be brought into the suites. These features will destroy our plumbing.
